Summary
A maths revision club held during half term holidays for GCSE Year 11 students, at Key Stage 4, helps boost students' confidence in approaching their revision and exams.
At Priory Community School, Weston Super Mare, the principal has asked the school's most charismatic teachers to run revision days for students who are border line pass or fail at maths.
These highly structured days during half term holidays, involve groups of students having concentrated teaching sessions on difficult topics, lessons on effective exam techniques and mock exams with instant feedback.
This project is still in its infancy, but both teachers and students feel it is effective in building confidence just days before students sit their exam papers for real.
