Featuring a short dramatic reconstruction of a violent and aggressive outburst from a student who racially abuses a teacher, this video aims to replicate a situation which teachers may find they are confronted with.

In the drama, the teacher deals with the situation firmly and calmly, preventing it from escalating and disrupting the class. Teachers can take note of the techniques used that were so effective in dealing with the abuse.

A panel featuring senior education psychologist, Tina Rae, and working teachers talks through the scenario, offering clear and straightforward advice on how teachers might handle challenging situations like this.

The discussion focuses on body language, response plans and reparation.
