Summary
Dorton House Special School in Kent offers visually impaired pupils a well-rounded education for Key Stages 1 to 4 to prepare them for an independent and confident life when they leave school.
This programme features a multi-sensory cookery lesson in the nursery, follow eight-year-old Samuel as he practises vital mobility skills, and talk to the head of PE as she teaches archery. We also see a modern languages lesson taught by a visually impaired teacher.
The programme also highlights the strong creative arts links with the Milton Margai School for the Blind in Sierra Leone and three older Dorton House pupils discuss their first trip to the country.

The video or Dordon School was excellent. It gave me not only ideas to use within planning activities, but also an insight how I could use my voice and strategies that would offer a visually impaired child the greatest of benefits.
